Panel objects left on the chart

If Midas is removed from the chart (or the EA crashes) while it's running, the panel's rectangles, labels and buttons can be left behind as orphaned chart objects — they stop updating and just sit there. Re-attaching the EA to the same chart does not always clean them up on its own.

Run the MidasClean script (in the Navigator under Scripts, not Experts) on the same chart — it removes every object the panel created, giving you a blank chart to re-attach the EA to. Since Midas 5.32 the panel removes its own objects when the EA is deleted, so this step is needed only for older builds. The MidasClean script is available from support: copy MidasClean.ex5 to MQL5/Scripts and run it on the same chart.

EA not trading

Work through this in order — it covers the large majority of cases:

• The AutoTrading button in the MT5 toolbar is green, not red.
• The EA's own "Allow Algo Trading" (or "Allow live trading") checkbox was ticked when it was attached — check the smiley icon in the top-right of the chart; a sad or grey face means it's off.
• The Experts log (bottom panel in MT5) shows no error about the account not being on the allowed list, or a licence problem.
• Full price history has finished downloading for the symbol — a partial download can stall the EA's own internal checks.
• The current server hour is inside the "new baskets" trading window on the Grid tab (see Panel settings explained) — outside it, Midas manages an open basket but won't start a new one, which can look like "it's not doing anything" if there's no basket open yet.
• Free margin is available — a basket won't open a new order it can't afford.

Terminal running slow, or freezing

A very long, uncapped price history combined with a long-running terminal can make MT5 sluggish over weeks. Tools → History Center (or History in newer builds) lets you review and trim what's stored; restart the terminal afterwards. On a VPS, a full server reboot works too if the terminal itself is set to auto-start.

Lost connection / VPS reboot

Midas doesn't lose its place — MT5's own order history and the broker's server are the source of truth, not anything cached locally, so a reconnect picks the basket back up correctly. What you need to guard against is the terminal not reconnecting or restarting on its own — see the auto-start note in Set up a VPS.
